Submission Categories and Guidelines
Scientific Abstracts
Submit your abstracts of original research for the opportunity to present to your colleagues. Research can be in the form of clinical studies, basic science investigations, or preclinical studies and must be relevant to interventional cardiology, endovascular medicine, or structural heart disease. Your abstracts must convey original research but can include portions of previous abstracts and/or manuscripts presented or published elsewhere.
The presenting authors of the six highest-scoring abstracts will be awarded:
- Sponsorship to attend TCT Plus Africa, comprising complimentary registration, airfare, and accommodations.
- One-on-one mentoring from experts in writing scientific manuscripts and grant proposals.
- Publication of their accepted abstract in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC).
Note About Submission Categories
Submit single-patient case reports to Challenging Cases, regardless of the novelty of the case.
Submission Guidelines
- Submission Format: Use CRF submission platform and enter relevant information as prompted.
- Character Limit: 2,200, including spaces and including characters in the table and images (approximately 300-350 words); each image reduces character limit by 600; each table reduces character limit by 300.
- Images: Maximum 10 MB per image; PNG and JPG file formats only.
- Table: One table maximum; 10 rows and/or 6 columns maximum.
- Grammar: Please ensure that your abstract submission undergoes thorough grammatical checking to ensure it is publication-ready if accepted.
- Correct Upload: Verify that all study information, including tables and images, is correctly uploaded and displayed on the submission site.

Challenging Cases
Physicians and fellows from the region: Submit your most challenging coronary, endovascular, and structural heart disease cases. The best cases will be chosen by the course directors for presentation.
The presenting authors of the top 6 Challenging Cases will attend TCT Plus Africa for free! This includes: waived registration fee, hotel and flight cost.
Submission Guidelines
- Submission Format: Include case summary, history, diagnostic tests, procedure, conclusion, and comments. PowerPoint file is optional.
- Character Limit: 2,450, including spaces and including characters in the table and images (approximately 350–400 words); each image reduces character limit by 600; table reduces character limit by 300.
- Images: Maximum 10 MB per image; PNG and JPG file formats only.
- Video: Maximum 30 MB: MPEG, WMV, AVI, MOV, MPG, and MP4 file formats only.
- Table: One table maximum; 10 rows and/or 6 columns maximum.
- Grammar: Please ensure that your case submission undergoes thorough grammatical checking to ensure it is publication-ready if accepted.
- Correct Upload: Verify that all study information, including tables and images, is correctly uploaded and displayed on the submission site.

Innovation Sessions
Submit your novel technologies relevant to the monitoring, diagnosis, and treatment of coronary, endovascular, or structural heart disease. Digital innovations encouraged! Selected emerging technologies will be presented at TCT Plus Africa 2027.
Shark Tank Innovation Competition
Enter the Shark Tank! Submit concept-stage novel technologies in interventional cardiovascular medicine for a chance to present to a panel of expert judges and compete for an award of US$100,000.
Submission of technologies at different stages of development is encouraged. The TCT Plus Africa Innovation Program Development Committee strives to find appropriate placement in the program for as many eligible submissions as possible. A small subset of submissions will be considered for and offered participation in the TCT Shark Tank Competition. Your submission must be relevant to the monitoring, diagnosis, or treatment of coronary, endovascular, or structural heart disease and meet all three of the following criteria:
- Addresses an unmet clinical need
- Has preliminary patent application filed
- Includes preclinical or early human clinical data
Submission Guidelines

Submission Format: PowerPoint file of 15-20 slides
- Indication for an innovative device or technology
- Addressing the following aspects of the technology: unmet clinical need/field of use, technology differentiation and competitive landscape, IP position/landscape, summary of preclinical and/or FIH data, regulatory pathway/strategy, commercialization strategy.
- Character Limit: 2,450, including spaces and including characters in tables and images (approximately 350-400 words).
- Grammar: Ensure that your submission undergoes thorough grammatical checking to ensure it is publication-ready if accepted.
- Correct Upload: Verify that all study information, including tables and images, is correctly uploaded and displayed on the submission site.
